Recipe Box
The students are very excited about the prospect of cooking in this class. This portion of my website will be used to give students access to some delicious and healthy recipes outside of the classroom. I will update the website the foods we have made in class, as well as provide you with some other things that you may want to try out.
I also would like to en courage you to take part in The Family Dinner Challenge. More information can be found below. While this is not something that the students will be graded on, if your family decides to take the challenge, I would be very interested to hear the results!

My Personal Favorites
My favorite enchilada recipe!. This isn't a horrible option, but can be made healthier with some simple substitutions: Greek yogurt instead of sour cream, wheat tortillas instead of flour tortillas, low-sodium/fat chicken broth etc.
Quick and easy! This is a great soup to make in the winter and takes less than 30 minutes from start to finish.
Very easy to make! Can be served as a side, or add in some meat and make it into a main dish. Can be eaten hot or cold, so it is perfect for anytime of the year.
Easy fruit salad that anyone can make, and it doesn't cost a lot of money like most fruit salads!. Peach pie filling helps keep bananas from turning brown and keeps everything light. Freeze the leftovers and throw it in the blender, add yogurt or ice cream and it makes a great smoothie!
Creamy peanut butter filling with chocolate ganache on top and on bottom!

Recipes We Have Made in ClassA delicious, dairy-free smoothie!
A delicious twist on everyone's favorite treat!
A fun way to make a favorite dessert. This can easily be made with "normal" kitchen supplies like a mixing bowl, but the bag is fun and different, especially if you have younger children at home and want to get them involved. Also good, if you want a sweet treat, but don't need a whole pie!
If you like Heath bars, you'll LOVE these cookies!
Pizza Puffs: A quick, easy dish that allows everyone to customize their dinner.
Pizza Crescents: The students really enjoyed these! Just like the Pizza Puffs, you can easily customize these with toppings that you enjoy. We used sausage, pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms, and olives, but you can use whatever toppings you like!
Pancake Muffins: Easy muffins that let you put your favorite breakfast foods inside them! We used blueberries, strawberries, peaches, bananas, sausage, bacon, and cheese, but you can use whatever you would like!
This simple dish is a healthier alternative to Fettuccine Alfredo. You could easily add some grilled chicken or vegetables to make it a full meal.
Easy and delicious! Can be served as a side or add meat to make it a complete meal. Most ingredients are probably already in your pantry, so it works as a quick meal as well. Vegetables can be customized to your liking or you can use a frozen bag of mixed vegetables.
A quick and easy treat to help solve your sweet cravings. A fun activity to do as a family as well! This can be used with regular milk or coconut milk for those with dairy allergies.
